INFRASTRUCTURE FOR HIGH-POWER WORKLOADS
SOLUTIONS FOR
HIGH-DENSITY
REQUIREMENTS
IT&C and digital infrastructures are evolving toward configurations with increasingly high power densities. AI, HPC, intensive processing and other compute workloads can require significantly higher power levels per rack than traditional colocation configurations. When multiple high-power racks are installed in a data hall, power density increases and, consequently, so do the requirements for power supply, power distribution and cooling.
For these configurations, the data center needs to be designed around the infrastructure requirements, rather than around the available space alone. Power supply, cooling, power distribution, space configuration and expansion capabilities need to work together to support the equipment and workloads they are designed for.
NXDATA develops critical infrastructure for high-density requirements, and NXDATA-3 is being built to support IT&C and digital infrastructures requiring high levels of power and cooling.
WHEN POWER DENSITY CHANGES THE REQUIREMENTS
INFRASTRUCTURE DESIGNED AROUND THE IT LOAD
Increasing power density changes the requirements of a data center’s infrastructure. Equipment that concentrates high power consumption within a limited space requires appropriately sized power supply, cooling and power distribution. For these projects, the configuration cannot be determined solely by the number of racks. IT load, equipment density, cooling requirements and the way the infrastructure is expected to develop all matter.
NXDATA assesses the project and equipment requirements to determine the appropriate colocation configuration, based on the required infrastructure and available capacity.
POWER FOR HIGH LOADS
AVAILABLE POWER BECOMES A DESIGN CRITERION
High-density infrastructures can require significantly higher power levels than conventional IT configurations. The electrical distribution system needs to support the equipment load and be sized according to the infrastructure configuration. For such projects, power availability and the way power is distributed within the colocation space are essential elements of the technical configuration.
NXDATA-3 is being developed for infrastructures with high power requirements, providing the infrastructure required to implement high-density configurations.
COOLING FOR HIGH DENSITIES
THERMAL LOAD NEEDS TO BE MANAGED AT THE INFRASTRUCTURE LEVEL
As power density increases, so does the amount of heat generated by the equipment. For high-density configurations, the cooling system needs to be sized according to the IT load and equipment characteristics. Cooling infrastructure therefore becomes part of the configuration design, alongside power supply and the space required for equipment installation.
NXDATA-3 is being built to support high-density requirements and can accommodate configurations requiring advanced cooling solutions.
INFRASTRUCTURE READY FOR EXPANSION
COMPUTE CAPACITY CAN GROW, AND INFRASTRUCTURE NEEDS TO KEEP PACE
Digital infrastructures develop as data volumes, processing capacity and the number of pieces of equipment increase. A configuration that meets today’s requirements needs to be able to evolve with the project.
For high-density infrastructures, expansion capabilities need to be considered together with power availability, cooling and the space required for additional equipment.
NXDATA provides colocation configurations that can be adapted as the infrastructure develops, depending on project requirements and available resources.
CONNECTIVITY FOR INFRASTRUCTURES WITH HIGH DATA VOLUMES
COMPUTE INFRASTRUCTURE NEEDS A NETWORK TO MATCH
Compute-intensive infrastructures involve significant data exchange between processing equipment, storage systems, cloud platforms and other external infrastructures. Connectivity needs to support the architecture and traffic volumes of the service.
At NXDATA data centers, high-density infrastructures have access to a carrier-neutral ecosystem of networks and connectivity providers, as well as direct interconnection options.
INFRASTRUCTURE FOR HIGH-REQUIREMENT APPLICATIONS
HIGH-DENSITY FOR AI, HPC AND INTENSIVE PROCESSING
High-density requirements are emerging across an increasing range of IT&C and digital infrastructures. AI, HPC, intensive processing, data analytics and other compute-intensive applications can require configurations that exceed the parameters of conventional IT infrastructure. For these projects, the data center needs to support power, cooling, space and connectivity requirements simultaneously.
NXDATA-3 is being developed for this category of infrastructure, with an architecture designed for high-density requirements.

NXDATA-3
INFRASTRUCTURE BUILT FOR HIGH-DENSITY REQUIREMENTS
NXDATA-3 is being developed for IT&C and digital infrastructures with high power and density requirements. The four data halls can be configured according to project requirements, with a total IT capacity of 4 MW and 1 MW available in Phase 1, supported by electrical and cooling infrastructure sized for high-density configurations.
RESILIENCE INTEGRATED INTO INFRASTRUCTURE DESIGN
CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE DESIGNED AT THE BUILDING LEVEL
The NXDATA-3 data center was designed and classified as an Importance Class II building, in accordance with Romanian regulations on construction quality, reflecting enhanced structural design requirements relevant to critical digital infrastructure.
Infrastructure resilience is not limited to the building structure. NXDATA-3 uses a modular architecture in which each data hall operates independently, with an N+N power architecture and N+1 cooling. This configuration helps isolate infrastructure and reduce exposure to faults that could affect other areas of the data center. At NXDATA-3, resilience is treated as a design principle of the infrastructure, rather than simply as a characteristic of the equipment installed within it.
